Paul Revere Engraved October 16, 1778 “Codfish” Note
State of Massachusetts. October 16, 1778. Eight Pence. Due date of October 18, 1784. Paul Revere Engraved Second “Codfish” Issue. Crisp Uncirculated.
Fr. MA-258. This attractive Revolutionary War note was engraved by Paul Revere in a copperplate for the now “State” of Massachusetts. It is well centered and the reverse displays a huge right margin with a partial plate letter “A” which is rarely seen. This note is very clean and well printed with some light handling being overall crisp and boldly signed in rich brown.
