June 8, 1777 Georgia Four Fifths of a Dollar PMG VF-30

Georgia. June 8, 1777. Four Fifths of a Dollar or Four Shillings. Typeset Design. PMG graded Very Fine-30.

Fr. GA-102. This impressive, boldly printed fractional denomination note is from the Revolutionary War “...for the Support of the Continental Troops” Georgia issue. It has the extremely low serial number “7” and excellent, vivid eye appeal. Virtually all of the outer border designs are present, as are the signatures of Wood, Langworthy and Wade. The paper is clean in appearance being printed upon a fine quality watermarked laid paper. Low denomination notes would see greater circulation with fewer survivors for collectors to enjoy today.
