Colonel Parker Signed Letter to Elvis. One of the most controversial figures in American pop music, manager Colonel Tom Parker was the man responsible for Elvis' superstar status -- and some would also say responsible for the eventual decline in the quality of his output. Featured is a letter from Parker to Elvis, dated January 5, 1960, (three days before Elvis' 25th birthday), written to the King as his stint in the Army was winding down. He writes, in part: "I want to wish you a happy birthday and a happy 1960 to you. You have come through with flying colors on a tough assignment and I know you will always think of these two years in the army with great pride for there was two doors you could choose from - the easy one and the hard way ... Now when you think ahead in the few remaining weeks you can think of the thing you love to do the most - your entertaining." The letter is signed by Parker in green ink, and is in fine condition with some folding creases. With COA from PSA/DNA.
