A) U.S. Springfield Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet. The left side of the receiver has standard U.S./model marking along with the serial number. Pinned blade front and rear sight adjustable to 2000 yards. The stock has a "USA / 1902" boxed cartouche on the left side and a circled script "P" proofmark in the pistol grip area behind the trigger guard. Compartment buttplate with three piece cleaning rod. Complete with leather sling and bayonet (illegible date) with scabbard.

Condition: Good. The barrel and bands have a smooth brown-gray patina with an area of minor pitting on the barrel. The receiver has a mix between smooth dark gray patina and smooth silver-gray patina. The revarnished wood is fair with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine. The bayonet is fine.

B) The British proofed receiver ring is marked "RE" in an oval for Remington Arms, Illion NY. The renumbered bolt is numbered to the gun and the barrel has an importer markings underneath, forward of bayonet lug. The stock and hand guards are walnut with the left side of the stock having a range plate. Two barrel bands with the front band missing the stacking swivel. Complete with canvas sling and 1913 dated Remington bayonet with scabbard.

Condition: Arsenal / importer refurbished. The rifle retains 60% of the blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor pitting. The stock and hand guards are very good with a wood filled slot repair near the upper tang and some minor dings and scratches. The contrasting front handguard has been repaired. Mechanically fine. The bayonet is good.
