A) Manufactured from 1869 to 1871 this is one of the smallest American made derringers of its type. The barrel and grips are numbered to the gun. Top barrel flat is marked "E. ALLEN & Co. MAKERS". Brass bird head grip frame with smooth grips.

Condition: Good. The barrel has a mottled brown patina. The brass has a smooth untouched aged patina with a darker patina in the protected areas. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
- B) The top barrel flat has the two line address/patent dates marking. The brass frame has a circular side plate. The grips are numbered to the gun.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 50% of the high polish original blue finish at the rear with the balance a mottled gray patina. The frame has an even patina. The grips are good with a repaired left panel and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
