A) The top barrel is marked "ETHAN ALLEN & CO. WORCHESTER, MASS.,/ALLEN'S PATS. SEP. 7 NOV. 9,- JULY 3, 1860". Matching serial number on the bottom barrel flat, cylinder, cylinder pin, frame under the grips and on each grip panel. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish and fitted with smooth varnished walnut grips.

Serial Number: 657
Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish with a small area of minor pitting on the right barrel flat and a smooth brown and gray patina on the balance. The grips are also fine with a small chip on the left toe and a few minor dings and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
- B) Manufactured between 1858 and 1865 with a total production of about 1,500. Marked "ALLEN & WHEELOCK. WORCESTER. MS. U.S./ALLEN'S PAT'S. SEPT. 7. NOV. 9. 1858." on the left side of the barrel. The matching serial number is marked on the cylinder, barrel frame under the grips and the inside of each grip panel. The cylinder is engraved with 5 round panels with scenes of a stand of arms, an Indian, a cowboy, and a ship on the water and fitted with smooth varnished walnut grips.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 60% original blue finish with muzzle and edge wear, a smooth gray patina on the cylinder, scattered flaking and traces of original blue finish on the grip straps which have a smooth mottled gray patina. The grips are also very fine with some wear and nicks on the lower right edge and a few minor scratches. Clear markings and engraving. The action is excellent.
