A) Manufactured from 1859 to 1874. Left side of frame marked "C. SHARPS/ PATENT 1859" around the hammer screw, right side "C. SHARP & Co / PHILADA. PA.". Blue barrel cluster with a silver plated brass frame with straight grip to frame juncture. Matching serial number on barrel and frame. Fitted with gutta-percha grips.

Condition: Very good. The barrel cluster retains traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth gray patina with some minor pitting. The frame retains 30% original silver plating with the exposed brass having a untouched aged patina. There are a couple small chips missing near the bottom edges, otherwise the grips are fine with a few mild handling marks. Mechanically fine.

B) The top of the barrel flute is marked "ADDRESS SHARPS & HANKINS, PHILADELPHIA PENN" and the right side of the frame is marked "C. SHARPS PATENT / JAN. 25 1859". Fitted with smooth grips.

Condition: Very good. The pistol has a smooth gray patina with the barrel cluster retaining 20% original blue finish in the flutes. There is limited pin point pitting on the frame. There is a minor chip missing from the left panel at the bottom, otherwise the grips are fine with some minor scratches. Mechanically fine.
