Collector's Lot of Two Miniature Nazi Style Daggers

1) Miniature Copy of a Second Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger, with Commemorative Inscription. Measuring 9 1/8 inches overall, with a 5 7/8 inch blade marked "FRIEDRICH PREUSSE K.G. BRAUNSCHWEIG/1884 (50) 1934" on one side, and the "WKC" trademark on the reverse. A construction/excavation company by that name, founded in 1884, operates in Braunschweig today, and the city was home to a Luftwaffe base that saw significant expansion during the 1930s, but a positive connection between the two has not been established. Plated brass hilt fittings, with a wire wrap on the tan painted grip. With a miniature reproduction Luftwaffe sheath. 2) Unique Miniature Copy of a Reich Labor Service Officer's Dagger, Inscribed as a Special Prize for a War-Era Competition. Measuring 10 inches overall, this dagger is patterned directly after the R.A.D. Officer's dagger, with a 6 3/4 inch "scimitar" style blade, etched "Arbeit adelt" (Work ennobles) on the right side and bearing the trademark of Alcoso on the left. The hilt is silver plated brass, with the R.A.D. logo on the guard, an eagle head pommel, and simulated ivory grip. With a silver finished sheath, inscribed on the rear "Sonder-Preis d.R.A.D.f./Arbeit z/ sch. Kiel/Nordsee, 1940". A major center for German naval operations from the 1800s to the present day, Kiel was a nerve center for Kriegsmarine operations in the North Sea, as well as a manufacturer of U-Boats.

1) Good, showing a small amount of pitting (possibly an artifact of the etching process) on the blade, some mixed color on the hilt fittings and sheath, and mild handling marks overall. 2) Very good. The silver components show a mixed, deliberately aged color overall, with some streaks and spotting. The grip shows a few light scuffs, and the sheath engraving is sharply executed.
