A) Manufactured from 1866 to 1873. Top of barrel marked "SOUTHERNER" without a maker address/patent date marking. Iron frame with rosewood grips numbered to gun.

Stock:
Gauge: 41 RF
Finish: nickel
Grips: rosewood
Serial Number: 4349
Condition: Period replated. The derringer retains 90% of the nickel finish with some minor edge wear and some areas of minor pitting (left side). The finish is taking on a frost appearance. The grips are fine with 90% of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks.

B) Top of barrel marked "SOUTHERNER" and three line address/patent date marking on left barrel side. Silver plated brass frame and rosewood grips numbered to gun.

Finish: blue/brass
Grips: rosewood
Serial Number: 3692
Condition: Good. The barrel has a cleaned bright gray with pin point pitting along with some minor pitting on the right side. The brass has a polished appearance. The revarnished grips are good with the exception of a small chip absent from the right panel near the bottom and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
