A) Manufactured circa 1850-1851, with total production around 1000. Top strap is marked "MASS. ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS", lock is marked "WESSON'S & LEAVITT'S PATENT" and "LEAVITTS PATENT APRIL 29, 1837". The recoil shield is stamped 678 with the rotating assembly carrying an 1849 patent date. The lock, frame and hammer are broad floral scroll engraved and the cylinder is etched with floral designs and a stand of arms.

Condition: Very good. The revolver has a mottled gray patina with traces of original case colors around the trigger. The cylinder retains strong traces of the etching with some scattered minor pitting. The back strap and trigger guard retain 85% original silver plating. There is a series of minor dings on the bottom, otherwise the grips are very fine with some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.

B) Made from 1851 to 1860. Standard two line barrel address, patent date on primer door, light floral scroll engraving, and floral etched manual revolved cylinder. Matching serial number (65) on frame and both grips, with the number "74" on the barrel, cylinder pin latch, and top strap.

Condition: Very good. The barrel and cylinder pin latch retain traces original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The remaining surfaces have a mottled gray patina with a patch of original blue finish on the primer door and traces of blue in the protected areas. The hammer retain an area of strong case colors. The left grip panel has been repaired, otherwise the grips are fine with some minor pressure dents and some minor scratches.
