A) Produced circa 1870-1882. Top strap groove sight, with the left side marked "MY FRIEND" below the cylinder. Seven-shot unfluted cylinder, with matching numbers on the cylinder, trigger, pin and frame and a cutout for a cylinder stop on the underside of the frame. Frame is decorated with scroll, burst and punch dot engraving. Solid grip section, with a checkered panel on the rear.

Condition: Poor, with a mixed brown patina and mild pitting on the cylinder. The hammer has been repaired, and an extended spur installed. A mottled dark patina is present on the frame, lighter on the sideplate, with scattered dings. Mechanically fair.

Five shot unfluted cylinder, with matching numbers on the cylinder, trigger and frame. Frame is decorated with scroll, burst and punch dot engraving. Solid grip section, with a checkered panel on the rear.

Condition: Fair as refinished, showing 95% of the current nickel, with scattered sub-surface pitting under the heavy buffing, mild flaking on the cylinder, and scattered handling marks. Cylinder pin is a replacement. Mechanically very good.
