Collector's Lot of Two Helmets and a Shield

1) One piece munitions grade comb morian that appears to be Italian from the late 16th century. The edges are rolled and roped and the top of the comb is roped as well. There are decorative brass floral accents riveted around the base. There is a later plume holder added at the rear. There are also later added leather chin straps with 3 overlapping armored plates attached to a piece of leather that is then riveted through two original holes. Good as polished with scattered minor pitting, discoloration and two small break throughs on top of the comb. With a wrought iron stand having a carved wooden face. 2) Shield having a riveted plate with a repoussed rampant lion. There are brass washed rivets centered between the plate and the outside edge. The backside has a floral pattern cloth lining and there is a brass handle riveted in the center. Measures 24 1/2" tall x 18" wide. Very good as polished with some areas of minor pitting and discoloration. The brass is worn on some of the rivets. The backing is starting to peel in places. 3) Miniature cast Roman style helmet with raised floral scroll designs. Very good with a dark patina.
