A) Manufacturer: Unknown Model: Flintlock Pistol
The lock plate is marked "R/SIBTHORP". The top of the chamber has a light floral engraving with three proofs stamped on the left side. The upper tang and hammer are also engraved. The barrel has a cannon type muzzle. The stock shows the lines of a wire inlaid pattern (wire now absent) and is carved around the upper tang. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Good. The pistol has a mottled gray patina showing some minor pitting. The stock is fine with a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
B) Manufacturer: French Model: Blunderbus
This unusual unmarked flintlock pistol has a blunderbuss style barrel with a 3/4 inch opening. The pistol is possibly French, circa 1750s. It has all iron furniture. The front of the stock has provisions for a now absent ramrod. The stock also has a bird's head grip with a bird's head engraved on the metal butt cap. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Good. The pistol has a mottled gray patina showing a few small patches of minor pitting. The repaired and cracked stock is good with some pressure dents and a piece of wood missing ahead of the lock plate. Mechanically fine.
