A) Queen Anne Flintlock Pocket Pistol. This lot consists of a pair of miniature Queen Anne flintlock pistols. Manufactured circa 1730 to 1750. The cannon style turned screw off rifled barrel gauges at approximately .36 caliber and has fluting at the breech. Marked "LONDO" (not "London") below the frizzen spring, with the top of the breech plug featuring an engraved shell pattern. The front of the frizzen has a border engraving and the trigger guard has a floral engraving. One piece walnut stock with a silver circular escutcheon behind the upper tang and an elaborate silver grotesque mask as the buttcap. Note that the buttcap has a series of silver hallmarks. Overall length is 6 inches.

Condition: Good. The iron surfaces have a once cleaned smooth gray patina. There is some minor pitting on the breech plug with some deeper pitting on the hammer, on the frame behind the hammer, and on the trigger guard. The silver is very fine. The stock is very good with evidence of light sanding and some minor dings. Mechanically fine.

B) The turned screw-off smooth bore barrel gauges at approximately .48 caliber and has an engraved floral type band at the muzzle. The left side of the breech plug is marked "SPENCER" and the right side is marked "LONDON", with a pair proofs on the underside. The frame has an engraved military/patriotic motif. The sliding bar safety and trigger guard are also engraved. Checkered walnut stock with a diamond silver monogrammed escutcheon behind the upper tang.

Condition: Good. The pistol has dark mottled patina with some scattered minor spotting. The grip is very good with some dings and a dent on the bottom and some very scattered minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
