Collector's Lot of Two European Swords

1) 19th century European longsword, 44 inches overall with a 36 inch double edged triple fuller blade. The blade has a hexagonal cross-section, with light scroll etching on the forte and a dished finger rest at the ricasso. 9 3/8 inch swept cross guard, with a beaded side ring, a protective extension for the finger rest, contoured "hand and a half" grip with scroll decorated leather cover and a flanged pear-shaped pommel. 2) 17th Century Broadsword (German probably Solingen), 39 1/4 inches overall with a 33 1/4 inch blade, hexagonal profile with an unidentified stamp within the triple fullers and a large stamped face ahead on the reverse. Floral accented dual quillion guard, 7 inches wide with a roped bottom, wire wrapped grip and a hexagonal faceted pommel (possibly 17th century) with geometric decoration.

1) Fair, showing a dark brown/gray patina with pitting. Dings and chips are present on both edges, and a thumb rest has been detached from the guard. Leather shows mild scuffs and cracks. 2) Fair, gray overall with pitting. The grip is strong, with a small amount of play in the pommel.
