A) Left lock plate marked "Barbey" and right plate marked "a Paris". Engraved furniture with steel tipped horn ramrod, single barrel wedge and a stock with a checkered grip area, flared butt and engraved iron cap.

Condition: Very good. The pistol has a smooth gray patina mixed with a protective coating. The stock is fine with some scattered minor handling marks on the checkering. Overall the checkering remains crisp.
- B) This is an example of an Italian pistol possibly made circa 1680-1700 without maker markings (that writer could use to determine age). The barrel has silver and brass floral blossom inlays along with a brass band accented with silver at the muzzle and breech. The pistol has engraved brass furniture accented with silver overlays including the open-work side plate. Mounted on a highly figured burl walnut stock. With a wooden brass tipped ramrod.

Condition: Very good. The pistol has a smooth gray patina with the brass having an attractive patina. The silver is fine. The repaired stock is fine with some minor handling marks and a couple missing minor chips. The action retracts but does not function correctly. The trigger will not release hammer.
