Collector's Lot of Two Deringer Marked Percussion Pistols

A) Blade front and notch rear sights, with ''DERINGER/PHILADELA'' and a zig-zag flanked "P" on the breechblock, which is bordered front and rear with 1/16 inch wide bands of gold. The Deringer address is repeated on the lock plate, with engraving on the lock, hammer, tang, bolster, and furniture. The trigger guard, escutcheons and inscription shield are silver, with German silver triangular tip insert, accent plate, reverse plate and buttplate with floral engraved patch box door.

Condition: Fair, showing an artificial brown patina on the barrel with areas of gray, a darker gray patina on the lock, hammer and tang, and a small amount of handling marks and pitting. The stock is good, with minor pressure dents. Mechanically fair, with half cock needing work.
- B) German silver blade front and notch rear sights, with "P" and "DERINGER/PHILADELA" marked on the silver banded breech. The Deringer address is repeated on the lock plate, with scroll engraving on the lock, hammer, tang, accent plate, reverse plate, inscription shield and trigger guard, with blossom pattern escutcheons and zig-zag bordered teardrop buttplate. Attractively finished stock, with a triangular tip insert and a birds head butt.

Condition: Fair. The barrel has been cleaned, with a few spots of light brown patina and a small amount of pitting, with the lock, hammer and breech show a dark gray patina. Chips are absent from either side of the poor stock, as well as from around the lock, with a loose escutcheon, cracking, and the grip worn smooth. Mechanically fair.
