A) British Snider Breech Loading Carbine. Snider patent marking on trapdoor hinge and "B.S.A. Co." marked on trapdoor. Lock plate marked with a large crown/G.P." and "B.S.A. & Mco / 1875". Brass trap door buttplate (two piece cleaning rod included) and trigger guard. Blade and folding ladder rear sight on rifled barrel. Various proofs are present with "R9 / C / 50" stamped on buttplate tang. Single barrel band and saddle ring mounted behind trigger guard.

Condition: Very good. The carbine retains a patch of original blue finish on the barrel at the breech and traces of silvered out original case colors on the lock plate with the balance a mottled gray patina. There is some minor pitting which is mostly present on the cleaned barrel band. The brass has a mixed patina. The stock is very good, with some minor pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.

B) Snider patent marking on casehardened trapdoor with the casehardened lock plate marked "1877" and "F.A.". Blade and folding ladder sights on rifled barrel. Brass buttplate, trigger guard, and forend cap. Two barrel bands with front band having a bayonet lug numbered "A599" and sling swivel. Nearly full length straight grip stock with buttstock sling swivel and slotted iron ramrod.

Condition: Good. The barrel and bands have a smooth brown-gray patina with some minor pitting. The lock, hammer, and trapdoor retain traces of original case colors fading to a silver-gray patina. The brass has a polished appearance with a darker patina on the buttplate which has numerous minor dings. The trigger guard is ill-fitting. The reoiled stock is also good with some minor dings and scratches with a couple minor cracks on the buttstock (right side) and a few minor gouges on the forearm (left side). Mechanically excellent.
