The left side of the slide is marked with the legend: "P. BERETTA-CAL. 7.65-BREVETTATA / GARDONE V.T. 1936-XV". The left grip tang has the "crown/spread eagle" Italian Air Force marking along with a circled "MR". The "MR" marking remains an unidentified acronym (see, for example, J.B. Wood's BERETTA AUTOMATIC PISTOLS, page 75). Standard factory grips. Matching serial number on slide and frame.

Condition: Very fine. The slide retains 90% original purple hued blue finish with some minor edge wear and some minor pitting. The frame retains 80% blue finish with the grip straps thinning to a gray patina. The grips are excellent with some minor handling marks. When magazine is out and the slide pulled back, barrel moves freely.

B) Beretta Model 1934 German Occupation Semi-Automatic Pistol with British Proofs
The left side of the slide has the German occupation two line legend ("P. BERETTA-CAL. 9 CORTO-Mo 1934-BREVET / GARDONE VT. 1944") and the German acceptance quality control marking ("4 / UT") on the left grip tang. Caliber marking and a single British proof on top of the barrel, with a pair of British proofs on the frame and a single British proof on the slide. Standard Beretta metal backed plastic grips.

Condition: Excellent. The slide retains 95% plus original purple hued blue finish with some mild edge wear. The frame retains 97% blue finish with a faint plum patina. The grip straps have some light thinning. Overall there is limited pin point pitting and numerous dings. The grips are excellent with the exception of some scattered minor handling marks. Safety rubs against the trigger pin, otherwise mechanically fine.
