A) Manufacturer: Smith & Wesson Model: 1 1/2
Manufactured from 1868 to 1875 this is very nice example of a Model 1 1/2, 2nd Issue revolver. The top of the barrel rib has the one line address/patent dates (1855, 1859 and 1865) marking. It has a five shot fluted cylinder, casehardened trigger, hammer and ejector rod and smooth bird head rosewood grips. The right grip panel is stamped with the matching serial number.

Condition:
Very fine. The revolver retains 90% original blue finish with some scattered minor flaking and edge wear. The hammer has a smooth dark patina. The grips are excellent with 98% original varnish remaining showing some very minor high edge wear, and a few tiny dings and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
B) Manufacturer: Smith & Wesson Model: 2 Army
Manufactured between 1861 and 1874. The top of the rib is marked with the one line address and the serial number is marked on the butt. The matching assembly number "988" is marked on the barrel lug and front cylinder face. Standard blade and notch sights, and fitted with smooth varnished rosewood grips.

Condition:
Very good. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish with a brown patina on the balance. There is some fine pitting on the barrel edges and some minor spotting on the grip straps. The grips are fine with a small chip on the left heel, some lower edge wear and as few minor dings. The markings are clear. There is some slight play in the hinge, otherwise the action is fine.
