A) The frame is machined at the recoil shield and is fitted with a conversion plate that is notched for the centerfire firing pin and features a loading gate numbered "9010". The top of the barrel is marked with the one line London address, the left side of the frame is marked with the two line patent date and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "36 CAL". The matching serial number along with the letter "L" is stamped on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap. The cylinder is also numbered to the gun. Fitted with a smooth, one piece walnut grip. Provenance: Will Hoffeld Collection.

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 30% original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some mild pitting with more extensive pitting on the grip straps. Traces of the cylinder scene remain. A couple of chips of wood are absent near the bottom, otherwise the grip is fine with a few long scratches and minor dings with a shallow gouge (left side). Mechanically fine.

B) Manufactured in 1851. Two line New York barrel address inside brackets, "COLTS / PATENT" on left side of frame, and stagecoach holdup cylinder scene. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, trigger guard (above "XX"), back strap, cylinder, and loading lever, with mismatched wedge (369). Fitted with a one piece varnished grip.

Condition: Very good. The revolver has a mottled gray patina with the frame retaining mainly silvered out case colors. There is a patch of minor pitting on the left recoil shield. Most of the cylinder scene remains. The grip straps retain 60% original silver plating with the exposed brass (mostly on the back strap) having an untouched aged patina. The grip is very good with some minor dings and scratches along with a pressure dent on the left side near the frame. Mechanically fine.
