A) Manufactured circa 1862-1868. Originally configured for a front-loading cup primed cartridge, and later converted to rimfire. German silver blade front and frame groove rear sights, with "MERWIN & BRAY. FIRE-ARMS. CO. N.Y.", with patent dates marked around the five round cylinder. The barrel and cylinder are blue, with a silver finished brass frame and smooth grips.

Stock:
Guage: 28
Finish: blue/silver

Very fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing a brown patina on the left side and bottom of the barrel, a mixed brown and gray on the cylinder, and some light spotting and handling marks overall. The frame is excellent, with over 90% of the silver, showing a deep, nearly black patina overall with brass visible along the high points. The grips are very good, with minor dents. The cylinder pin is loose, otherwise the action is very good.

B) Manufactured in the mid to late 1860's, using a semi-bored through cylinder to bypass Smith & Wesson's Rollin White patent. German silver blade front and hammer groove rear sights, with the top of the rib marked "CONN. ARMS CO. NORFOLK CONN." and the cylinder has the two-line 1864/1866 patent dates. Blued barrel and cylinder, casehardened hammer and spur trigger and silver plated brass frame, with smooth grips.
