DAWSON'S SPRING ESTATES AUCTION

Dawson's Auctioneers & Appraisers of Morris Plains, New Jersey and Palm Beach, Florida will hold their Spring Estates auction on Saturday, April 20th at 9am. The sale will feature three distinct collections: Royal Worcester porcelain; Netsuke & Asian Art; and Property being sold to benefit The Morristown Memorial Health Foundation. As always, the auction will also offer American and Continental Furniture, Decorations, Rugs and Fine Art from select estates.

Surely, much excitement will surround the exceptional Single Owner Collection of Royal Worcester porcelain, which includes over 180 pieces, where buyers will have the opportunity to bid on a broad selection of vases, ewers, pitchers, jars, plates, figurals, candlesticks, candle extinguishers, miniatures, scent bottles, teapots, bowls and cups in the Renaissance, Persian, Eastern and Japanesque styles. Amongst these, bidders will find many signed pieces by such artists and modelers as James Stinton, James Hadley, William Hale, Frederick Chivers, and others. Of special note, there will be a spectacular reticulated globe vase by George Owen that will certainly attract a lot of attention. Following the Royal Worcester will be a wonderful group of Japanese and Asian Art from a private New Jersey Collector, featuring over 30 fine boxwood and ivory Netsuke of Katabori, Manju and other types, as well as furniture, porcelains, painted scrolls and Tankas. The third collection to come to the auction block will be a selection of Property being sold to benefit The Morristown Memorial Health Foundation. American stoneware, Windsor chairs, and an English oak dresser will highlight this session. Fine Art will feature the work of 19th Century French Genre painter Charles Petit and a whimsical representation of an 18th Century Dandy by Leon Albert Hayon. Continental Furniture and Decorations will include an Austrian Biedermeier bibliotheque and pair of wall mirrors, an Austrian bronze and "Rouge Royale" marble six-piece desk set, a pair of Louis Philippe armchairs, an Empire ormolu mounted walnut torchiere and table en chiffonniere, a German Baroque style carved walnut bookcase, and a 12' x 18' Sarouk carpet.
