[DUCASSE, MICAELA MARTINEZ. 1913-1989.] Artist Micaela Martinez's collection of dance and theatrical ephemera from her theater arts education, work, and interests. Consisting of: 1.) A box folder of numerous newspaper/magazine clippings and programs for ballet, theater, music, film, and costume, 1930s-1940s. 2.) A collection of over 100 programs/advertisements from Bay Area, Carmel, and other California music/orchestral and theater productions, mostly 1940s-1960s, with just a few from the 1930s-1920s. Includes the Carmel Forest Theater, San Francisco Curran Theater, Alameda County Federal Theater, Columbia Federal Theatre, University of California, Carmel Music Society, Carmel Civilian Defense Equipment Fund Performance, etc. 3.) Dance publications: Shadowland Magazine, 1922, with many full-page photographs of dancers of the era; autographed program booklet for Uday Shan-Kar and His Hindu Ballet; Tap Dancing Simplified, 1937; Tip Top Tapping, 1943; It's Fun Dancing the Latest Steps! 1940; How to Dance, 1943 (dance books with wear/creasing).
