<B>Confederate Surgeon Major Samuel Houston Caldwell's Collection of Confederate Generals CDVs.</B></I> Surgeon to General Nathan Bedford Forrest, Caldwell was active after the war in the United Confederate Veterans and collecting Civil War mementoes. Part of his collection includes these ten <I>cartes de visite</B></I> of Confederate generals. All are of the 2½” x 4” size and are in good condition. As follows: <BR><B>General Robert E. Lee</B></I> (1807-1870), West Point (USMA) Class of 1829, leader of the Confederate armies, later President of Washington College; <BR><B>General Joseph E. Johnston</B></I> (1807-1891), USMA 1829, he was commander of the Army of Tennessee and signed an armistice with General Sherman in April 1865; <BR><B>General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson</B></I> (1824-1863), USMA 1846, the hero of the Confederacy who was accidentally killed by his own men at Chancellorsville; <BR><B>General Albert Sidney Johnston</B></I> (1803-1862), USMA 1826, killed at the Battle of Shiloh; <BR><B>General Braxton Bragg</B></I> (1817-1876), USMA 1837, led an invasion of Kentucky and fought at Perryville and Stones River. This is an image of him as a younger officer; <BR><B>General Ambrose Powell "A.P." Hill</B></I> (1825-1865), USMA 1847, killed at the defense of Petersburg; <BR><B>General Sterling Price</B></I> (1809-1867), defeated Steele, fought at Iuka, Corinth, Helena and Red River; <BR><B>General Simon Bolivar Buckner</B></I> (1823-1914), USMA 1844, led his troops at Chickamauga; <BR><B>General John Marmaduke</B></I> (1833-1887), USMA, a Missourian, he led his troops in Arkansas and at Shiloh; <BR><B>General Albert Pike</B></I> (1809-1891), an Arkansas general who led a force of Indians at the Battle of Pea Ridge. <BR><BR>This is an excellent grouping of Confederate general officer photographs collected by the Confederate surgeon who rode with General Nathan Bedford Forrest.<BR><BR><b>Shipping:</b> Flat Material, Small (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.heritageauctions.com/common/shipping.php">view shipping information</a>)
