Collection of Great Depression Photography.
<B>"Great Depression" Photograph Portfolio from the Farm Security Administration</B></I> featuring the photographs of: Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Ben Shahn, and Arthur Rothstein. After the "Great Depression" President Roosevelt developed several programs to help the farmers and farming communities get back on their feet; one of these was the Farm Security Administration. This group aided farmers through loans, education, and relocation. In order to create public awareness of the issues facing these poverty stricken people; a group of photographers joined the movement and put the struggles of these individuals on paper. This portfolio was put together by one of the photographers, Arthur Rothstein, and he says: "In this portfolio, I have assembled and printed those images, in my opinion, are most representative of each photographer's work." There are seven photos total; all are in black and white, on glossy paper and measure 11" x 13". Some of the images are political; others are emotional and heart wrenching. Each one is different and touches on a particular anthropological view each photographer saw in his or her subjects. This is truly a unique collection of work, and a comprehensive view of America after one of its most trying periods. All photographs are in excellent condition with no flaws.
