Collection of German Shooting competition medals
Germany, an interesting collection of shooting medals, all hung from a long chain. The medallions are all engraved on the reverse and date from 1900 to 1931. However, they all seem to be engraved with women's names. The diameter ranges from 24 to 29mm. The 1925; 1929; and 1931 are hallmarked "EPH990". There are 16 different years represented. The 1914 dated medal was made from a Prussia 2 Mark commemorative and the reverse was planed for engraving. Suspended at the bottom is a pendant with a Swastika and a subsequent silver and gold coloured 8-pointed star, with sun burst and wreath, with three part construction, below, engraved, "Zum 100 jahr Jubelfeste gew. v. d. Schutzenkonigin Helene v Hebel 1938". Marked 835 on back. The clasp and bar at the top of the chain is inscribed "Gervidmet v d Schutzenkonigin Frl. Maria Heyers, 1899"
