Uncommon set of four 1969 Fisher space pens, the original brand of ballpoint pens used during the early years of the Apollo program, each measuring 5? long and housed in an original illustrated 5 x 1.75 presentation box with accompanying two-sided informational insert and order form. Pens are individually engraved with the name of an astronaut, including: Neil A. Armstrong, Michael Collins, Charles Conrad, and Alan Bean. In overall fine condition, with two boxes bearing initials indicating the name on the pen. Capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and the gravity-free void of space, these durable Fisher writing pens were also used by Russian cosmonauts aboard three Soyuz flights from 1968–69. An exceptional set of Fisher space pens, the very brand that made note-taking in outer space a reality.
