The present collection consists of nine snuff bottles, which were manufactured around 1900 in China. The bottles form a delightful collection because of their multiple materials, colors and shapes. The materials include ivory, lapis lazuli, inside painted overlay glass, transparent and opal glass, agate, different quartzes and composite stone. The bottles have different shapes and show a fineley carved, incised or cut decor with figural and zoomorphic motifs. All snuff bottles are equipped with a fitting stopper, three of them with spoons.

The bottles are in good to very good overall condition with minor wear. One glass bottle shows a crack, the mouth shows some tiny notches. Three bottles do not include spoons. The total heights, with lids, vary from 5 to 8 cm. (cko)
