Included are 12 single sheet (printed both sides) issues of The <I>Spectator</B></I>- all dated 1712, the <I>Spectator</B></I> was founded in 1711 by Joseph Addison and Richard Steele "to enliven morality with wit, and to temper wit with morality...to bring philosophy out of the closets and libraries, schools and colleges, to dwell in clubs and assemblies, at tea-tables and coffeehouses." Also included are single issues of the following: The <I>Daily Gazetteer,</B></I> four pages, October 19, 1741; The <I>London Chronicle: or Universal Evening Post,</B></I> eight pages, September 19, 1758; The <I>True Briton,</B></I> four pages, August 15, 1794; and The <I>Oracle and Public Advertiser,</B></I> four pages, June 6, 1795.
