A) This is an example of a WWII Model 1903A3 rifle manufactured by the Smith-Corona Typewriter Company. These rifles were exact duplicates of the Remington version, with a four groove cut rifled barrel that is marked "S C / ordnance bomb / 4 43". The front receiver ring is marked "U.S. / SMITH-CORONA / MODEL 03-A3 / 3688126". It is fitted with the parkerized stamped trigger guard, parkerized and blued barrel bands, and blued buttplate with the stamped adjustable rear sight and hooded front sight. The oil finished stock has a circled "P" and an "S" in the grip area and boxed "FJA." and crossed cannon cartouche on the left side over the trigger and "OG" on the left side of the buttstock. Ahead of the floor plate are four proofs. Complete with a front sight cover and a 1905 pattern bayonet with shortened and altered blade, and M8A1 scabbard.
