Estate 2: Dorey's Collectibles from Hamlett, North Carolina. Dorey's collectibles had specialized in Breweriana from mostly Anheuser-Busch. The Doreys have been in the process of liquidation. We are offering a partial sale of their inventory, with the rest to follow in the future.

Estate 3: Marge Dunlap is a celebrated artist in Midwest and High Plains areas. While she painted in oils, and created cloth art, she was best know for her ceramic creations and huge talent. Marge was formally trained in the ceramic arts, with many “excellence of achievement” awards bestowed upon her. It wasn’t uncommon for her to sweep an event where she entered her art. She found that during her many years of working with ceramics, as well as teaching them, she happened to fall in love with elephants. She understood the elephants’ plight of over-hunting, ivory harvesting, encroachment of their environment, drought, and other malaise which reduced the world population of this most regal of mammal. As a result of her understanding and love, she began a collection of elephant statuaries. At first her collection was comprised of elephants she would find during her travels and pursuits within the ceramic art world. However, it wasn’t long before she found she would have to develop these regal creatures in clay, and did so, winning many awards. Marge yearned to teach others this craft and pursued this love of this art form for many years. She also believed it was important to help protect this species as a whole, and was a supporter of the World Wildlife Federation. Through collection and contribution she had hoped to excite others in her cause, and anyone who would listen would find out quickly the plight of the elephant. As a result of many years of collecting, both personally and through gifts (no one would think of coming for a visit without bringing an elephant offering), she amassed a collection of nearly one thousand unique elephants. This was such an astonishing accomplishment that in 1996 she was intervened by Fox News Studios East for a program called “Personal FX”. This news program was aired worldwide and was a highpoint in her life. With Marge’s passing in 2002 the art community lost a cherished constituent. It is with a heavy heart that we offer this beautiful, unique, collection of stately elephants, memoirs of a lifelong pursuit of a very special person.
