Collectible rare nomadic Persian yalame-qashqai rug. 100%natural hand woven, vegetable dye, pure baby lamb's wool pile on wool foundation. woven by the nomadic and migratory tribe, known as the qashqai in the southwestern part of Iran. The weaving is unique in that it features both nomadic and urban influences at the same time with patterns ranging from city influences curve-linear floral patterns to tribal inspired geometric. this lovely qashqai is woven on a wool foundation and therefore referred to as "yalame halvaee". Needless to say this type of rugs has a better insulating value because of that. it is noteworthy that, the motifs and symbols incorporated in the pattern, represent everyday life experiences, such as influences derived from cultural beliefs that would include elements such as prosperity, fertility, religion and metaphysical forces shaping their lives. it is customary for women of the qashqai tribe to weave these rugs.
