<B>Colonel William R. McKee, Killed at the Battle of Buena Vista, Autograph Letter Signed "</B></I><B><I>W. R. McKee</B></I></B></I><B>".</B></I> Three pages, 7.75" x 9.75", Fort Preble [Maine], June 5, 1832, to his mother Martha McKee, Lancaster, Kentucky, with the usual folds and a small hole where the wax seal was removed, else a fine legible letter. In this long letter McKee brings his mother up to date on his postings and future postings, informs her of the purchase of a gold watch for $83 dollars and complains about the cost of the new officer's uniforms (referring to the new uniform regulations of 1832).
