A lot of three different Wyoming coal mining stock certificates in issued form. 1) Atlantic and Pacific Mining Company: Inc. in Wyoming. Cert. #311, issued at Bloomington, Ill. To C.W. Klumm for 500 shares in 1907. U/C. Allegorical females, one with wings and one with shield at the top. Black and orange on crème. 11” x 8.5”. Carbon County, Wyoming printed on the masthead. This company is not listed in the Mines Handbook, but is likely a coal mine. Carbon County was a large coal producer. EF. 2) Sampo Coal Company: Incorporated in Wyoming. Cert. #1014, issued at Hanna, Wyoming to Matte Kehns. Signed by Severi Alanne as president, and William N. Reivs as secretary. Black and gold on blue. Uncancelled/C8.5”.The Sampo mine was secured by some Finnish miners who started a co-operative coal mine. They soon had to shut down as the Union Pacific Railway refused to furnish cars for hauling the coal (workerseducation.org website). Heavy folds with small fold split. VF. 3) The Diamond Coal and Coke Company: Inc. in Utah in 1894. Cert. #8, issued at Salt Lake City to Serena? Fields. Signed by a different Fields as Secretary (illegible) and president (illegible). Vignette of a railcar full of coal at the top. Mines located at Diamondville, Wyoming printed at the top. Black pen cancels thru names and signatures. Stub removed with slight glue marks on left border. VF.
