Co. P, 3rd Engineer Regiment Officer School Photos
For your consideration are two photos of the Co. P, 3rd Engineer Regiment Officer Candidate School in Fort Belvoir, VA circa 1942. For 68 years, Ft. Belvoir housed the Engineer School. It produced thousands of officers, NCOs, and enlisted engineers who served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Thousands more attended the Engineer School during the peacetime years. In 1988, the Engineer School and Center relocated to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The first and larger photo shows 7 photos in total, one large group photo spanning the width of the paper and 6 smaller photos along the bottom of the paper. The smaller photos spanning across the bottom show soldiers in formation, posing for photos and doing training activities. The second photo in this lot shows a large group in their uniforms, posing for a group photo. They are all wearing identical uniforms but their ranks differ from person to person. The photos show good condition overall with wear present from their age and handling over the years. Cracks are present and some slight staining, but no obvious signs of damage is noted. The larger photo measures 10" L x 31 5/8" W and the smaller one measures 10 15/16" L x 13 7/8" W.
