British actor (1887–1974) who played opposite Marlene Dietrich in Shanghai Express. He also played Sherlock Holmes three times. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 GB Pictures publicity photo for Farewell to Love, corrected in the border in an unknown hand to Loves of a Dictator, showing Brook as Doctor Struensee, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Clive Brook.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of July 10, 1935, the date the signature was acquired. In fine condition.
