Clip point Bowie knife marked “J. Moseley and Son, London,” “New Street” “Covent Garden”, with fancy carved ivory hilt showing bear, log, and snake. Circa 1852-1884. The knife measures approx. 14-1/4” overall with 9-3/4” clip point blade and period scabbard of simple construction which is probably an old replacement. The blade is in near fine condition with an unsharpened false edge and just minor pitting, slight discolorations, and most original polish and full dimension with full tip. Hilt is exquisitely carved in piece with excellent detail. A unique and one-of-a-kind custom made knife with fantastic London quality. Hugh Hayes Collection. Est: $2,500 - $5,000
