Clip point Bowie knife by Joseph Rodgers & Sons. Cutlers to Her Majesty. Showing 9-1/8” blade, approx. 13-3/4” overall, horn grip scales with embossed leather over cardboard original scabbard. The blade shows a pronounced and clipped point, with unsharpened back edge. The blade is in near fine condition showing its original polish and full dimensions. Just some light staining and beginning aging, and minor scratches. The crossguard is of German silver with ball finials. The grip is darkened horn secured by pins. The horn grips are very good plus with just a couple of slight scratches, minute stress cracks at pinholes, and normal aging with good patina. The scabbard shows some minor tatters, small losses, most of its embossed gold gilt and retains its German silver tip and throat. The tip shows a small crack and a couple of dents. The throat is missing its button hanger. An exceptional condition clip point Bowie by a desirable maker. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
