Clip point Bowie knife be George Wostenholm & Son, Washington Works, Sheffield with one-piece stag hilt, German silver mounts. Pictured with incorrect scabbard (for lot 760), which is not included with this lot. Knife measures 13-1/2” overall with 8-3/4” clip point blade with false edge. The blade is etched with American patriotic slogans and rare Zach Taylor image on the ricasso which dates the knife to the Mexican War era, 1848’s-50’s. The blade is very good plus to near fine with pleasing natural patina and very good stag grips. Handmade period replacement sheath of American Frontier style in good condition (not pictured but included). Hugh Hayes Collection. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
