College Football Hall of Famer (1910-2005) who captained Columbia to the 1934 Rose Bowl victory over Stanford, widely regarded as one of the greatest athletic upsets of the twentieth century. Glossy 10 x 8 photo of Montgomery atop a lion statue in his Columbia uniform, signed and inscribed in red felt tip “To: Jim Wiggins, best regards, Sincerely, Cliff Montgomery, Columbia – 1937.” In fine condition, with some light streaking to emulsion.
