The Pioneer was a four page Saturday issue weekly that was the rival of Theodore Lowe`s Pioneer Papers which ran a Wednesday issue weekly. Both were in competition for the mining camp of Pioneer, NV. The papers and the camp both went belly up by July [Ref: Lingefelter and Gash, The Newspapers of Nevada: A History and Bibliography, 1854-1979, 1984, p. 169].
