Pre-printed, unused form with which the recorder for the Clear Creek Mining District of Utah Territory could acknowledge ownership in mines in this district. This slip is printed on a heavy "onion skin" like paper. It was dated 1861. This document was probably printed very early in 1861 as on March 2, President Buchanan signed the act of Congress creating the Nevada Territory. Clear Creek flows from the Sierra range above Lake Tahoe down into Eagle Valley, about half-way between downtown Carson City and Genoa, Nevada. The Clear Creek Mining District was organized in 1859 west of Carson City. It was abandoned in about 1862. Very Rare!City: Clear Creek Mining DistrictCounty: CarsonState: NV
