Classic O/U buck and ball swivel barrel percussion longarm marked Chas Roth, Wilkes Barre (Pennsylvania) on the top of each barrel, .50 cal. rifled barrel and .50 cal. smoothbore barrel, 33-1/2” octagon barrels, back action lock, brownpatina, striped maple butt stock with beautiful brass four piece patchbox, double set triggers. This gun is in overall untouched condition showing a dark brown patina to the metal surfaces, dark bores, hammer does not stay on full or half cock,set triggers not functioning, smooth bore barrel missing nipple and bolster, swivel barrels actuated by a brass lever on the reverse side of the lock mechanism, brass ramrod ferrules on both sides of the rifle. The stock is in overall goodcondition showing years of wear but no breaks and classic Pennsylvania lines; brass trigger guard, butt plate and lower stock decorative strip that has worked loose but can be easily re-pierced with brass brads; There is a presentation oval at thtop of the wrist and a pierced inlay brass oval with sunburst on the left side of the butt stock and another inlay below it; replaced ramrods. This rifle is circa 1840’s to 1860’s and would greatly improve with some careful TLC. Est.:
