Clark Gable/Susan Hayward Autographed Photo From Solider Of Fortune
The scourge of the Hollywood Blacklist and the McCarthy witch hunts were winding down, however actors still felt they needed to make their one "I'm not a communist" movie, just for safe keeping. In 1955 the legendary Clark Gable felt the need to take his turn with "Soldier of Fortune". it also starred the beautiful Susan Hayward. Ironically it was directed by the Edward Dmytryk who became one of the many victims of the horrific witch hunts, and was even thrown into prison for a time by HUAC. He came out a broken man and left Hollywood to become a professor. From this controversial time and film, comes this extremely rare piece of historic memorabilia. A "Soldier of Fortune" PR-release photo, personally signed by both Clark Gable and Susan Hayward (who adds: "Sincerely"). A Gable signature is rare enough, but a double-signature with a co-star is rarer still! Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Heroes and Legends and signed by UACC dealer, Myron Ross. (B&W 8"x10").
