Brilliant defense attorney (1857–1938) noted for his role in the Scopes “Monkey” Trial and the Leopold-Loeb thrill-killing case. Signed book: Farmington. Later printing. NY: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1932. Hardcover with dustjacket, 6 x 8.25, 255 pages. Signed and inscribed on the title page “Inscribed to Mrs. Ida Willard Beble, with the kind regards of Clarence Darrow, Chicago, Oct. 22nd 1932.” A mild shade of edge toning to signed page, as well as both pastedowns, and some light wear to spine and covers, otherwise fine condition. Dustjacket rates very good, with mild toning, sunning to spine, and edge wear and tears.
