Manufactured in 1869. The barrel has the one line New York address marked on the top. The three screw frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "44 CAL". The cylinder has the navy scene. The wedge is unmarked, with the cylinder, frame, grip straps and barrel having matching numbers. The revolver has an iron back strap and silver plated brass trigger guard and is fitted with a one piece varnished grip.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 40% original blue finish and the top of the back strap and butt retain heavy amounts of blue, with the overall balance a smooth brown patina. The cylinder retains most of the cylinder pins and the roll engraved scene with traces of blue with the balance a smooth brown patina. There is some minor pitting on the front face of the cylinder. The frame and loading lever retain traces of original case colors with the balance a smooth gray patina. The trigger guard retains 80% original silver plating. The grip is fine with half of the varnish remaining, some minor handling marks, and a small missing chip at the bottom (left side). Mechanically excellent.
