Our Assessment: This is a relatively unique revolver that was designed to circumvent the Rollin White bored through cylinder patent. Merwin & Bray were the distributors and likely owned the manufacturing plant. About 20,000 were made.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is low blade. The rear sight is the top strap.

Grip Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece smooth varnished wood. There are no cracks or chips and lots of finish remains. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is dark and the rifling is light. There is moderate erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 45% of its metal finish. There is thinning at the edges of the barrel. The plating on the frame is worn at the edges, with somewhat ill fitting side plates. The screw heads are usable. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions properly. We did not fire this gun. As with all used firearms, a more thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
