Civil War era Triplett & Scott carbine, .50 cal., 22” round barrel, grey patina finish, wood stocks, #3045. This gun is in overall good condition showing an even grey patina on metal surfaces with some scattered spots of erosion andpin prick pitting, good bore and action, good markings including “Kentucky” on the left side of the receiver and overall good wood stocks with some scattered mars and nicks from carry and storage and an old well-done repair to the rightside of the butt stock at the wrist. There were 5,000 carbines contracted by the State of Kentucky to arm the Home Guard troops in early 1865 to protect Union supply lines for Sherman’s Atlanta campaign. Est.: $900-$1,800.
