Civil War ensemble consisting of 1849 pocket model inscribed “Wm. A. M. Nerland / Boston, 1861”. Also, IXL marked spearpoint dagger with ivory grip and original sheath. Along with period flap holster and carte de visitewith his name penciled on reverse. His service history includes he was with the Mass. Volunteer infantry, Company I. Mustered into service May 24th 1861 in Boston. Discharged November 1st, 1862 due to woundsreceived at Nelson’s Farm, VA, June 30th 1862. The Colt shows a 5” barrel, traces of original blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips, silver plated straps. The revolver shows a two-line Hartford addresswith six-shot cylinder. Serial #203361. All matching serial numbers, good edges, sharp markings, 75% cylinder scene, some bright color still showing within the patina and some fiery case hardening. The grips show75-85% original varnish with some slight edge wear. The action is crisp, the interior shows slight use and carry. The inscription is genuine and beautifully inscribed. The dagger or dirk measures nearly 9” overall
